Imagine not cutting with CCR work around

Hi for those of you who don't know what a Cricut Imagine is it is a print and cut machine. There have been some issues with using this machine with the on line digital program that works with the other cricut machines and the machine has now been discontinued. Now my Imagine has been working fine except if I try to print and cut from Cricut Craft Room it will print but it looks as if it is going to cut then doesn't. Well today I decided to just cut from CCR and No that didn't work so I put the mat that had printed in the Imagine into the E2 and told CCR to cut it on the E2. The picture above is the negative and the cut that I did. As you can see when the Imagine prints it has a bleed area and when the mat cut in the E2 it stayed withing this bleed are to cut. Now I do realise not everyone is a cricut-a-holic like me but for those of you who have both machines this is fabulous as I can now colour my images that are CCR specific and print them then cut them on my E2

A note of thanks card/book

I made a card for a friend to thank her for bringing in her quilts at Christmas so people could look at them. People appreciated that she had done this and I made a card for her. The card has a cupcake on the front it cut from the phrase layer of TBBM2 on pg 34 and is embossed with a cup cake embossing folder and then inked with StampinUp Illuminate ink then to add even more sparkle I heat embossed it with iridescent ice from StampinUp. the sentiment is also StampinUp. On the inside of the card/book I added plain pages so people could comment on her quilts and have enough room to do so. I punched 3 holes in the back of the card and the papers and threaded green ribbon through it and tied it together. The inside left of the card is the last picture and I didn't take a pic of the whole card opened out.

recycle containers with ribbon

One of our large stationery store is running a craft competition. The have not put out what they expect you just have to put your projects in with instructions. The problem is I have put in advanced projects and the winners have done something as simple as decorating a light shade with bought felt flowers. So this time I tried to combine simple with useful.
I have taken a milk bottle and cut it down to 2.5 inches. I then glued ribbon around it and also over the handle which is also cut from the milk bottle. They do make really cute little baskets. I also did a fruit salad can and wrapped the ribbon vertically to cover the can then placed a ribbon round the inside  to cover the edges. I have decorated them with embellishments I have in my stash. The ribbon is American craft ribbon and comes in a 24 pack value pack of 1 metre on each roll. If I win anything I will blog it.

Wedding Card with Extreme fonts

The Cricut website had a competition on using the Extreme fonts cartridge which they had allowed the basic font on this cartridge to be used free in CCR for a week. I had a wedding card to do and decided it might be nice to create a personalized background using this font. I entered this on the cricut.com projects and currently it is still there.
I designed the names in cricut Craft room and then put in a silver gel pen and wrote on vellum paper. I trimmed the vellum to fit the card and then from the Sweethearts cartridge I cut the bride and groom and put them on the top of the card with pop dots. I used the dazzling details from StampinUp to glitter the bride dress and veil. The bouquet I used the cherry cobbler dazzling details to put the flowers on the green background. If you like the card go to this link here and make it one of your faves. Thanks

Table name for wedding

The couple getting married wanted table numbers with a bit of a difference. This is suppose to represent a DOC (Department of Conservation) sign. the sign is green with a yellow bar across the top and a DOC logo on the left. the card stock was given to us to work with. The DOC logo I took from a picture of one of their signs then manipulated it in ecal till I had it right and then cut them on the eclips. The name and numbers I cut in vinyl using the Cricut and the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge for the font.

Card feature on Tags Bags Boxes and More 2 with Expression

I was on the Cricut message board when someone asked if I could help them with the Card feature on TBBM2. They had put the envelope on the mat and cut it out but could not line up the sentiment feature. Faced with this challenge I had to do something so I tried doing all the things the person had said they did and she was right the sentiment didn't line up with the envelope feature BECAUSE as I finally worked out it is NOT suppose to. The sentiment lines up with the card feature and the cards are on a different button. For each card there are 2 sentiments and an envelope. I did this video to explain how things work on the cartridge and made this little Happy easter owl card and envelope. With the TBBM2 there is a handbook, Assembly Instruction booklet,  and a downloadable file  that explains the Card feature. This last file is not included in the box with the cartridge.  They can be found at these links:

Bride and Groom boxes from Cricut TBBM2

I needed to make the Bride and Groom boxes from Tags, bags, boxes and more 2 but wanted to see just how big I could make them. I put them on the mat at 11.5 inches using a 12x24 mat the Bride comes out at 7 inches and the groom at 9.24 inches. The groom is much bigger than the bride but in saying this he fits all the chocolates from the Cadburys Favourite box in him. With the bride I used the ebosser and embossed the front and back of her dress then I put a versamark pad to the embossing and used StampinUp heat and stick and then dazzelling details to glitter the back and the Stampin emboss Iridescent Ice to glitter emboss the front. The sad thing is the glittering embossing has not come out well in the pictures. I tied StampinUp satin whisper white ribbon round the waist of the bride and put a bow of the same ribbon on the back. The groom I put together and embossed dots on the box then added clear buttons. I decided I wanted to see what the Log Cabin Glimmer spritz from StampinUp would do so sprayed the box with this, what I noticed is that the clear buttons coloured with the spritz. I added Love you as a sentiment as it is coming up to Valentines day and I thought this would be appropriate.

check out the buttons coloured with the spritz

From the back still hard to see the glitter which shows well IRL.
