Beagle from CCR

When I was wandering round www.cricut.com a few nights ago I was looking at the projects on the site. I came across a project designed by Colleen that was called Christmas Beagle. I thought he was soo cute just had to make him. You can view Colleen's original post here
and the project on www.cricut.com here
I decided I needed a saying to go with him so decided on this one. I inked a 12x12 stretched canvas with distress inks then spritzed it and sponged the inks. I stamped the fern from the StampinUp stamp set Growing Green in the top corner and coloured it with Stampinup markers. I cut the lights from create a critter button 50 (shift) and the grass and flowers were left over negatives from my sweet tooth boxes  store. The words are cut from CCR basics from shiny embossed paper and from sticky paper.

Card holder

Well I was cleaning the white boad my DGD uses to draw on today and decided the back of it needed something more than being just bare so I decorated it as a card holder. Can be used for messages, Christmas or birthday cards, business cards, photos Materials required Plain notice board- could be cork board, white board, piece of thin wooden board, corrugated plastic. One that has an edge is good so you can put the paper up against it. You can chose any size just cut paper to suit. I used the back of a white board which now doubles as a card holder as well as a white board. (White board purchased from Warehouse Stationery, this has an edge which I used to butt the paper up to). Papers from Crafters Choice Cute Christmas stack 12x12 used here or any paper that you like. Paper can be chosen for a special occasion like birthday, anniversary etc Double sided tape Elastic Stapler with staples Decide what papers you would like to have on your board and where you want them to be. This can be done by just placing them on your board to start with. You can cut them to size if that is required. When you are happy with the way they look put double sided tape on the underside edges of each of the pieces of paper. Remove the backing from the double sided tape and place on the board to make the pattern you want. Use elastic cut to approx 2/3 the length and width and staple it in place at the side of the board so you have a bit of stretch when you staple it to the opposite side. You can put your elastic on either vertically and horizontally or diagonally. I chose to put mine on vertically and horizontally and to do it unevenly. This is totally your choice. Use as much elastic as you need to make as many ‘strings’ as you want to hold your cards. I used 6mm black elastic. You can embellish the crossovers or leave them plain. free glitter text and family website at FamilyLobby.com

Scalloped edge box

This is a little box from Sweet tooth boxes again. Was just playing to see how they come out. This is the small box and it has a round hole in the top but I used my gypsy to remove the hole. it is a very cute little box about 2.5inches wide  by .75in high

Chest of Draws

another project I have been doing was covering a little set of boxes. This is how they turned out. the whole thing is 6 x 5.75 inches and the boxes are 1.5in square. I covered them with paper from a Rosies small paper pad the brads for the handles are from StampinUp and the red glitter is the glitter glue in cherry cobbler and the clear on the birds is dazzling details from SU.

Stretch Canvas

This is a stretch canvas I decided to play with while sitting at the table tonight. I had the stretch canvas, the title letters, a stamp, an ink pad, 2 paint daubers 1 green 1 gold, some SU dazzling details and some felt flowers from my friend Ema in Key West USA. This is how it turned out and I quite like itI coloured the butterflys with a cotton ball and the green paint dauber and masked them to do the gold dauber paint round the outside. If you look closely you can see I have done faux stitching round the letters of Tyler in black. This will make a great door hanging for the room she has at Nana's house.glitter - http://www.sparklee.com

Boxes

Kaisercraft puts out wooden boxes that you construct and then decorate. You cab pain them or cover then with paper or do many other things with them as well. I decided to cover some of the boxes with papers from some of the paper stacks I had and using the 1inch round punch punched out the 1/2 round for the finger hole that was part of the box. Some of the boxes I painted with paint daubers and then added embellishments and I added some sticker owls to some of the boxes as well. The outside I painted with a green paint dauber and I liked the resultant effect as it looked like a colour wash on a woodgrain piece of wood. Not sure how I got the look but I like it. The edges I paint daubered with a gold paint dauber and it has a shimmer to it when you look at the box IRL but not sure this shows well in the picture.

Chelsea Summer

Having a new Granddaughter is a wonderful reason to scrapbook. the titles (words and shadows) are made from Cricut Plantin school book cartridge. I have added flowers and butterflys to the ones already there and blinged up some of the flowers. the envelope in the right corner is journaled with things about the day of her birth. I have made the photo mats by cutting them and used a cutting knife to slice the corners to give a faux photo corner. I have used a flower punch to add flowers and have inked these. the Chelsea has faux stitching in a sparklie pen.

CA Challenge October

At Crafters Anonymousthere was a October challenge to use Real red, Tempting turquoise crumb cake and white. This is what I came up with. I haven't done any challenges for a while but I thought I would give this one a go. I used Real red, tempting turquoise crumb cake and craft white stampinup ink pads and markers. I cut the pieces of the die and water painted them using the stampinup inks and water brush. I brayered the background with certainly celery and wild wasubi and the sky in bashful blue and marina mist and sponged so saffron in the area behind the letterbox. The stamps are from SU and I use the techniques of stamping off, and double stamping to get the trees (lovely as a tree), glittered the grass and used cherry cobler dazzeling details for the centre of the flowers. The sentiment is from curvey verses. I inked the edges of the front layer and layered it flat to the card base of read red. I used dimentionals to pop up the letterbox cat and grass as well as the envelope which has fallen from the box. the butterfly just hopped on at the last minute and seemed to be in just the right place.
