This is my scrapin Blog where I am going to keep all things I scrap about. I have discovered I love papercrafting and making things from paper and card. I have done crafts for years but have no record of them. Now I have decided it would be good to keep a record, so I am going to keep a record of everything I make so when I am forgetful I will be able to come back and go through my blog for a memory jog.

Ginger Bread Men
No not that there isn't any Ginger Bread women but I just didn't think to make skirts. He is my first effort at gingerbread men ever. I have made cookie cutter biscuits but never Gingerbread. The mix was a packet mix so I cheated there and it came with a cutter. I love chocolate so of course I had to decorate with chocolate and then I wanted to put little coats on them so out came the cricut cake and the red fondant and voila here are my little gingerbread men with little red coats. They have fruit and chocolate sprinkles for their eyes and the first lot of mouths and for the last 7 I used cut pebbles for their mouths and the larger sprinkles for their eyes. The jacket on the paper dolls cart I cut at 5inch doll size and it fit ok. I did turn the collar down and that made it a bit better but the paper dolls are a different shape. The way the coats are cut is because I have a gypsy to place them on the virtual mat where the fondant is this saves a lot of time trying to work out where they would cut. that is why I have added the pics of the red fondant cuts.

My first Cake
My first cake:- I bought a chocolate sponge and filled it with fresh cream and strawberry jam. I covered the cake in vanilla frosting then covered it in fondant. The fondant rolled out well and went on well but because I couldn't squish it into the side of the cake there was not a smooth side. I used the EDPD cart to cut the babies on the side and for their outfits I did 2 colours of pink fondant. If I do this again I need to make the coloured pieces I add much smaller. Welcome Home was cut from Basic Cakes and Tyler from Alphalicious. The babies have their hair painted with cocoa and a bow in their hair. Round the bottom of the cake is a scallop edging from Basic cakes cart. This was because the cream didn't beat well and started to run out the bottom. I didn't like the way the faces cut but haven't got my edible inks for the printer yet. The fondant baby is from a mold and I have painted the hair.

flowers with butterfly for patients
I decided to make my patients something so I used the flowers created in AE and made a butterfly from sentimentals. the butterfly has the cutout parts of the top under the wing so I didn't waste any paper. Someone asked how these were made. I cut 3 flowers the larger one 2 inches the next 1.5 inches the last 1 inch then put them together and placed them on a flower the 2 inch size that had leaves attached, I curled the petals the same way you would curl curling ribbon and placed a brad or gem in the center. The butterflys I cut from sentimentals but you could use any butterfly and then I bent the wings up and glue lined it to the flower. You could put this on a card but I just gave them as is.
