Haunted House

I could not resist making this haunted house from the cricut cartridge Happy Hauntings and cause I wanted to blog it I haven't finished decorating it yet. I'll see what I can do with some scenery tomorrow.

A Belated Birthday CArd

A birthday card and rhyme for a birthday card that didn't get to the recipient cause I was not so well.

A CA Challenge

A challenge from Crafters Anonymous - "Create a functional holder for domestic use. Your design must include an animal and the colour red"

I could think of no better holder than a handbag and the animal well let's say I love teddy bears! so what better animal to protect your handbag goodies.

Sign for hubby

Well DH came in this morning and said he wanted a sign and could that 'machine' of mine do one. It needed to be big enough for employees to see the emergency phone number. Currently the employees have the phone number written in size 12 font on an A4 sheet of paper in the office. DH felt it needed to be bigger incase there was an emergency. Remember this is only at this specific airport and is for any emergencies happening there. The phone is manned by personell 24/7 and they respond from within and phone the emergency through to any other emergency services they require. The board was produced by DH this morning with what needed to go on it.

This is the first time I have used vinal on the cricut. I cut the lettering from Cake Basics cart as it has a really great lettering font. I tried on the last part to do the 'kiss the vinal' method and that worked but it was easy enough to cut out the letters and peel the backing off and position the letters. I was quite worried about using the vinal with all that has been said about cutting it and placing it but found it was simple if you spent a little time. I didn't use the paper to stick it to just peeled off the backing and carefully positioned it. This would have been much harder if it had been an intricate pattern.

Christening for Ira Mae Y

My friends wee girl was baptised last Sunday and this is what I made for her. The words and date are stick on lettering, the kanji tags come from Cricut Pagoda, the lettering from Hello Kitty which has the shadow and the cutout features in the font. This is how I glittered Ira Mae by glittering the cutout feature. I decided I wanted to put her picture in a heart and I believe her life is now in Gods hands so I used the words 'in gods hands' that led to there needing to be hands, so I searched till I found a pair of hands I liked and cut them out to hold the heart. The lettering for 'In Gods Hands" I painted with a waterbrush and stampinUp ink pads and then I have used stickles to enhance it. The papers and edge punch are from SU. The little sparklie dots are from the lettering the stamp in the background is one I have which was in a fairy set.

A beautiful wee girl as I'm sure you will all agree.

Thank you cake

Rae had my very first SU workshop for me and I wanted to give her something special. I bought a choc sponge, put it together with butter cream and covered it with choc fondant and decorated it with the cricut cake by writing thank you and Rae and putting these on the cake. It was a day for firsts, the first time I have put fondant on a cake, first time I have cut out a thank you with the cricut cake, first SU workshop. My greatful thanks go to Rae for a wonderful day.

Impossible box with birds

I think I'm hooked on boxes. I love the little impossible box and here is another one. I love the SU bird punch it looks soo cute on my we boxes. This is a trial for something I am doing at the weekend.

A paper Cake for Sandra

Sandra Boston from Kiwi Cakes came to Tauranga on Saturday to demo the cricut cake machine. I had the privilage of being her assistant and watching as she cut words and intricut detailed cuts and laid them on the cake dummies we had been supplied with. Not to be outdone Friday night I made Sandra a cake in paper to show her how it can be done both ways. I used a sheet of A5 paper and cuts from Cake basics cartridge and this is what I came up with. The Happy birthday is layered onto the shadow of the same words the trim at the top is the scalloped border welded and the trim at the bottom is the negative of the scalloped border. the butterfly the paisley and the heart are cuts I wanted to try so I added them to show the cuts.

Stampin on balloons

no not the foot stampin type of the game but had some balloons and just had to see what they would look like stamped.

This is a little bag to hold notes or cards.I decorated the outside with a bird from the 2 step bird punch from su and the eyelets in the handle are cats if you look closely.

Envelope card

the envelope card can store all sorts of goodies for gifts and I love the way it has a pretty top. I inked the top with blues tempting turquoise and pacific point and the bottom with greens garden green and always artichoke. the pansies are from the butterfly punch as are the butterflys and the stamp set is every moment the sentiment is from sweet little sentiments.

Tulip Card

this is a card made from the su oval punch and the scallop punch as well as the 2step bird punch. I thought I would try it. inked the edges and I love the effect.

box card

this is a box card. It took me some time to understand how to make it but then it all fell into place. The card opens out and it is a box, so I filled the box with birds from the su 2 step punch. when I finished it I had added a happy birthday sticker and on the front was a layered square with A little bird told me.

HB Elyse

This is a book mark and card made for Elyse for her birthday tomorrow. the bookmark goes over the corner of the page and keeps your place.

This is my Bee pic taken from my terrace. The bush is just off the terrace and I was given it for my 50th birthday (and its still alive!) It is now about 4 feet tall and has brilliant yellow flowers in the summer. I love that the bee is in focus.

Happy 21st Birthday Melanie

Melanie my step granddaughter turns 21 on the 6th and she had a get together today so I made her a card and a bag. the martini glasses are from the Cricut Cartridge 'From my kitchen' the lettering 'Melanie' is 'Gypsy font' and the number 21 is from 'Black letter'. The embossing is from the cuttlebug folder Happy Birthday, and the word celebrate is from the cartridge 'Straight from the nest'. The papers are holographic and the base card is a green sparkle card which is part of a set of blank cards purchased at the Warehouse. The punch is from a Border Punch set from Hunter Leisure. The bag is from 'Forever Young'

Limited Supply Challenge

On opening my email I saw a Limited supply challenge. I love a challenge! Earlier tonight I made a recipe apron and looking at the criteria I thought this would be a great to see if I could do it with the limited supply challenge. Criteria-Create a card or project that contains only the following items and no others,

one neutral colour for your card base white ivory black brown or craft

2 different colours of card stock

1 patterned paper

3 buttons

1 colour ribbon

as little or as many images as you like.

well I used white for the base cardstock then an inside layer of old olive and used a SU DSP for the front of the apron. The rose pink cardstock I used for the frill at the bottom the top of the pocket and the sentiment. I used folders of old olive with stamps to show what is in each folder.

Lisa's Apron Card

Lisa from Crafters Anonymous took us through this Apron Card tonight. It is very simple but very effective and would make a wonderful gift. I could see it being a awesome mans card with tools etc as well. Many thanks to Lisa for her ideas.

Sponging with Paula

Today we made a sponged background I love the way the colours blend when you sponge them and this was my effort at sponging today.

Recycle challenge

What better way to recycle the diaper cake cutouts than to put them on a scrap book page for her future albums. Before and after. The Fairy godmothers hung from the arch over the diapers the words were around the bottom of the tray and the babies were all over the cake and on the arch.

Another house

with this house I embossed bricks on the house and sponged it to give it some varience in colour. If you look carefully you can see the embossing that I have tried to make look like brick. I used the scor-pal to do the embossing on the house. The Village keeps growing.
